1. Ownership of content

Rights in protected original content created for Datastrophe — including text, photographs, illustrations, videos and graphics — belong to Datastrophe or are used with the rights holder’s permission. Third-party brands, software and content remain subject to their owners’ rights and licences. This notice does not claim exclusive rights over ideas, facts or public-domain material.

2. Use and copying

Browsing the website transfers no intellectual property rights. Unless permitted by prior written authorisation, an applicable licence or law, copying, republication, distribution, translation, adaptation or exploitation of protected content, in whole or in part, is prohibited. Crediting Datastrophe does not replace permission where required. Ordinary links to publicly accessible pages are permitted provided they do not imply a nonexistent affiliation or endorsement.

3. Statutory exceptions

Uses permitted by law remain available within their conditions and limits. This includes quotation and private uses where legally allowed, not a general licence to reproduce the website. Author and source acknowledgements must be retained where required by law.

In Canada, the Copyright Act applies, including in Québec. Fair dealing and other statutory exceptions remain available under their conditions; research, private study, education, parody or satire are among the purposes covered. Attribution is required where the relevant exception requires it, including criticism or review.

4. Permission or complaints

To request permission or report suspected infringement of your rights, use the contact page. Identify the URLs, the work, your rights and the proposed or disputed use. Requests are assessed individually; silence is not permission.
