Every later stage depends on retaining the best available version of the failed device and its incident history.
Before recovery can be planned, the original storage must be protected from avoidable change. That means stopping writes, leaving noisy or unstable media unpowered and preserving the configuration of RAID, NAS, server and virtual systems.
No outcome is assumed at intake. The case advances from recorded symptoms to technical evidence, with a decision point before chargeable recovery and another check before recovered data are released.

Stable logical incidents
Deleted or formatted data can be overwritten by ordinary use even when the device appears healthy. The affected volume should remain offline while the next step is considered.

Impact, noise, heat, failed spin-up and repeated disconnections call for a conservative response because powering the source may worsen the fault.

Single-device intake

Transport

Logistics move the device; diagnosis, recovery and verification remain entirely with Datastrophe.
Datastrophe performs diagnosis and recovery directly in its laboratory. A private carrier transports the sealed parcel only and never accesses, diagnoses or processes the data.

The assessment gives the client a factual basis for deciding whether the proposed recovery is worth pursuing.
The diagnostic assessment identifies the fault, the safest recovery strategy and the evidence available for priority data. Tests vary with the media and can cover read stability, electronic behaviour, firmware, bad sectors, file-system metadata, flash translation, array geometry or encryption.
Mechanical evidence may justify controlled clean-room handling; logical and flash cases follow different laboratory routes. The report separates detected entries from readable and demonstrably usable files.

Evidence that supports feasibility
Readable areas, intact structures and representative priority files can support a recovery proposal, while unstable components or missing mappings introduce uncertainty.

The quote and free laboratory diagnosis come before any payment. Private round-trip transport is included. Before payment, the client receives the price and a checked file list using recoverable_verified, partial, detected_unverified and unrecoverable. Only recoverable_verified items are described as recoverable.
Payment is due only if the client accepts the file list and price. After payment, Datastrophe performs final recovery, prepares the result and arranges its return. If no usable data are found, final recovery fails or the client declines the list or price, no standard fee is due for the intervention, outbound transport, return transport, customs or standard return media. A rare, costly part is the only exception: it requires separate, explicit, priced approval and remains non-refundable even if recovery does not succeed.
